Sunbelt Baseball League Wraps Up Regular Season, Playoffs Begin Tonight

As the sun sets on another exciting regular season in the Sunbelt Baseball League, the stage is officially set for the 2025 SBL Playoffs, beginning tonight. Over the past several weeks, athletes from around the league have showcased exceptional talent, dedication, and sportsmanship, making this summer one to remember for players, coaches, and fans alike. 

The competitiveness across the league this year made for an intense stretch run, with postseason implications coming down to the final day of play. Now, six teams remain with one shared goal: hoisting the SBL Championship trophy. These next two weeks promise to be some of the best baseball of the year. 

 

Playoff Format Breakdown

First Round: Monday, July 21 – Wednesday, July 23

Monday, July 21

  •  #3 Cartersville Cannons vs. #6 Brookhaven Bucks
  • #4 Atlanta Crackers vs. #5 Gainesville Gol'Diggers

If Needed – Wednesday, July 23

  • #6 Brookhaven Bucks vs. Cartersville Cannons
  • #5 Gainesville Gol'Diggers vs. #4 Atlanta Crackers

Second Round: (Best of 3) Friday, July 25 – Monday, July 28

The top two seeds enter the postseason here and await the advancing teams:

Friday, July 25

  • #1 Choccolocco Monsters vs. Lowest Remaining Seed
  • #2 Alpharetta Aviators vs. Highest Remaining Seed

Saturday, July 26

  • Lowest Remaining Seed vs. #1 Choccolocco Monsters
  • Highest Remaining Seed vs. #2 Alpharetta Aviators

Monday, July 28 (If Needed)

  • #1 Choccolocco Monsters vs. Lowest Remaining Seed
  • #2 Alpharetta Aviators vs. Highest Remaining Seed

Championship Round: (Best of 3) Wednesday, July 30 – Saturday, August 2)

The two semifinal winners will face off in a best-of-three championship series to determine who will be crowned the 2025 SBL Champion.

Friday, August 1

  • Lowest Remaining Seed vs. Highest Remaining Seed

Saturday, August 2 (If Needed)
