Oconee Wild Things Enter First Full Season Under New Ownership

Greensboro, GA - The Sunbelt Baseball League proudly welcomes the Oconee Wild Things as they make their official debut this summer, bringing high-level collegiate baseball to Oconee County for the first time.

Formerly known as the Waleska Wild Things, the team was purchased midway through the 2024 season by new ownership and has now officially relocated to Oconee for the 2025 campaign. With a new home and energetic coaching staff, the Wild Things are ready to usher in a new era of summer baseball in the region.

The Wild Things will now play their home games at Lake Oconee Academy, which has been outfitted to host top-level collegiate baseball and family-friendly events all summer long. The relocation brings Sunbelt League baseball to a vibrant and growing fanbase eager to embrace the team. 

The franchise maintains its competitive identity from past seasons, but enters 2025 with new leadership, a bolstered roster, and strong community support. The new ownership group is committed to long-term growth, building partnerships throughout the region, and creating an exciting, affordable entertainment option for local families and sports fans.
